Memorial Work Dayish

Is there somethin' about this picture that makes me think that Rob is doing the work today....

Well I can bet when I was not buzzie gabbing it up with Shar she was a big helper. Summer there daughter is a part of Girl Scout Troop #60057 this is the plot that is put together by the Girl Scout troop and The Busy Hands Gardening Club.

They have a great soaker hose system set up with cute carvings on all the raised beds.
Shar and Rob said it was done with a router. Easy peazie!

I noted they have a great variety of plants as do all the plot lovers. This one has some tomatoes, basil, and look below the blueberry bush has a few little blueberries. I see jam ....Oui

Looking back at the Lugo family it reminds me how sweet it is when you can do something with all hands on deck.

I just get so tickled to meet you all out there. Who is next???

Meet our Master Gardner

Yup we have one! Our very own Bill "Master Gardner" to the garden. First off let us thank him...Thank you Bill! Now let us get started on how lucky we are. Master Gardner's put a ton of time into being of service to all. They study, dig, plant, watch garden life evolve and when it does not find out why.

The first time I met Bill I had a question about artichoke's we mulled it over and when he did not have just the right answer he said he would find it for me. This is the way to be of service. Do not just act like you know it all research and get the right information for the right question. Bill took my email and with in 24 hours I had a mail box packed with all the helpful tips and suggestion I needed to dream of eating the little artichoke I found blooming in my garden.

You can find Bill at the garden ready to help you with all your garden questions. Let me not forget to mention Bill's lovely wife Kim. While Bill and I itched our chins and discussed the how to save the world one artichoke at a time, Kim was busy working the dirt. We should all have this kind of helper.

Please come out and meet our professionals they are there to help and would love to meet you.

Meet our Plot Peeps

Here you see two of the first plot grabber's.
I would like to introduce you to Shelly and Julie. They grabbed one of the first plots. What they have done to it shows real teamwork. The perimeter of the plot is covered in a variety of vegetables. Cabbage caught my eye. I am a canner so all I saw when I looked down was sauerkraut. Busy shoveling the dirt into the middle for their compost pile. They are currently getting their worms happy digs!

I will be going back this Sunday one of our volunteer day's to drop off some jam to the ladies for a job well done.

Come down take a gander at the beautiful job everyone has done. Team work ....Love it !

Sunday time to "Help"

Meet Jon without an H. He is our go to guy or if you want to get professional he is our "Garden Adviser"

Well Jon and some of our other helpers Brent, Terry,  Nicole and more got it together today and put up the storage shed. It was a work of garden love.

In thinking today I thought everyone should always try to think about what they can get donated for our garden. We get stuck in the donate money mode. But stuff is important. When I was at the garden today I noticed they use cardboard. I know where we can get lot's of large pieces of cardboard "Free" love that word.

Make sure you take a look at our Wish list and always keep your little garden eyes open to the next dirty opportunity to grab some stuff for Simi at the Garden"Why you may even have stuff at home you do not need.

And remember every Saturday and Sunday is volunteer day. Come out enjoy the great weather and meet some of the gardener's making this happen.

Yoga in the Garden

This is our Fearless Yoga leader Kathy Leslie. She has been kind enough to donate her time to help us stretch and relax.

Once we all got set up we were on our way. At first you would think that wood chips would not be so comfortable. I do have to say myself not so bad!

The weather could not have been better for the first session.

A few breaths in exhale out and we were on our way ....... I do have to say being at the garden and the whole out door at peace with ones self kicked in right away.

Once we got the majority of our stretch's in we were able to lay on our mat's to end this with deep breaths and relaxed bodies. The picture to the left is what I saw when I peeked ....The sky was beautiful....
Well hands folded and a new kind of peace we all were a little less stressed from our long day. Thanks to Yoga in the Garden class and our great instructor Kathy. We sure hope to see more of you next week. We will keep the times and date posted in the event pages here and on our Facebook page.
